Ligaments found in the knee:-

The ligaments found in the knee of the human foot connect the femur and the tibia bone and provide stability to the knee. There are four types of ligaments found in the knee of the human foot, which are as follows:-

  1. Anterior cruciate ligament.
  2. Posterior cruciate ligament.
  3. Medial Collateral Ligament.
  4. Lateral collateral ligament.

1. Anterior cruciate ligament.

The anterior cruciate ligament is found in the center of the knee. This ligament runs obliquely connecting the front part of the tibia bone to the back part of the femur bone. This ligament helps to stabilize the knee joint by controlling the movement of the knee back and forth and prevents the tibia bone from moving in front of the femur bone.

2. Posterior cruciate ligament.

The posterior cruciate ligament is found at the back of the knee joint. This ligament runs obliquely connecting the back of the tibia bone to the front of the femur bone and helps to control the forward and backward movements of the knee. The tibia prevents the bone from moving back. Keeps the knee joint stable.

3. Medial Collateral Ligament.

The medial collateral ligament connects the femur bone to the tibia bone in the inner part of the knee and provides internal stability to the knee by protecting the knee joint from any trauma to the side of the foot.

4. Lateral collateral ligament.

The lateral collateral ligament connects the outer part of the femur bone to the outer part of the tibia bone and provides external stability while protecting the knee from any trauma.

What is Ligament Injury?

When a ligament is sprained, stretched, torn, or torn to a greater or lesser extent by a sudden movement, a jump or fall from a height, or an injury, it is called a ligament injury. it is said.

When walking, running, or jumping, the entire weight of the body falls on the knees of the feet, due to which ligament injuries are mostly in the knees of the foot. Injuries to ligaments found in other parts of the body are very rare.
